These terms are an agreement between you and kade (kadebooks.com, "we"). By creating an account or using kade you agree to them. We've kept them short and readable on purpose.
kade is software that organizes your business transactions and prepares tax-related summaries such as a profit & loss and a Schedule C mapping. kade is not a tax preparer, accountant, or financial advisor, and nothing it produces is tax, legal, or financial advice. kade does not file returns and does not hold or move your money. You are responsible for reviewing your numbers and for the accuracy of anything you file, and we strongly recommend review by a qualified tax professional.
kade reads statements automatically and checks its work against your statement's own totals where it can. That check is a safeguard, not a guarantee. Automated reading of documents — especially scanned or image-based ones — can miss or misread items, and category suggestions can be wrong. Review flagged items and compare totals against your statement before relying on any report.
You must be at least 18 and use kade for your own lawful business bookkeeping. Keep your password secure; you are responsible for activity under your account. Provide accurate information, and only upload statements you have the right to upload.
Don't attempt to disrupt, overload, reverse-engineer, scrape, or misuse the service, access other users' data, or use kade for anything unlawful. We may suspend or close accounts that do.
kade is pay-as-you-go. Your first statement is free. After that you can pay per statement, or buy a full-year plan covering unlimited statements for one tax year. The full-year plan renews automatically each year at the then-current price unless you cancel; you can cancel anytime and keep access through the year you paid for. Prices are shown before you pay and may change for future purchases. If you delete a statement, the upload it used is credited back so re-uploading doesn't charge you twice. Payments are processed by Stripe. Fees are otherwise non-refundable except where required by law — but if something went wrong, email us; we'd rather make it right.
Your statements and books are yours. You can export or delete them at any time. How we handle your data is described in our privacy policy, which is part of these terms.
kade is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose or that it will be error-free or uninterrupted. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages — including tax penalties, interest, or losses arising from reliance on kade's output — and our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim.
You can stop using kade and close your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms. We may also discontinue the service with reasonable notice; if we do, you'll be able to export your data first.
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Minnesota, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Any dispute will be resolved in the state or federal courts located in Minnesota. If any part of these terms is found unenforceable, the rest still applies.
We may update these terms. If a change is significant, we'll let you know by email or in the app; continuing to use kade after the change means you accept it.
